The Farming Equipment and Technology Fund (FETF) is opening for another round on 17th March 2026. The grant scheme, if you are not already familiar, offer grants to farmers, growers, foresters and their contractors to invest in equipment and technology. The funding available ranges from £1,000 to £25,000 for each of three different themes, with a maximum grant of £75,000 across all three.
The grants available are based on 40% to 50% of the expecetd cost of the item.
There is a long list of items available split across the three themes of:
- Farm productivity – 70 items designed to help improve efficiency and profitability.
- Animal health and welfare – 203 items designed to improve livestock health and welfare – supporting productivity, product quality and more consistent production.
- Slurry management – 17 items designed to help improve how slurry is collected, stored, tested and applied.
The scheme is competitive, meaning that you are not guaranteed an agreement, and each category is assessed slightly differently. Each individual item has been given a ‘score’ based on how well it achieves the theme’s objectives.
Applications for productivity items are scored based on the extent to which they improve productivity, deliver environmental benefits, and how widely the items are used across the industry.
Applications for animal health and welfare items are scored on their contribution towards the Animal Health and Welfare Pathway priorities.
Applications for slurry management items are scored based on how much they improve slurry management, the environmental benefits they deliver, and how widely the items are used across the industry.
